In der Zusammenarbeit mit der Pferdeklinik der FU Berlin wurde er hinsichtlich seiner Aussagekraft bei Entz\u00fcndungen unter die Lupe genommen. Als Einschlusskriterium f\u00fcr eine Entz\u00fcndung diente das Akute-Phase-Protein SAA. Dabei stellte sich heraus, dass auch bei Entz\u00fcndungen unterschiedlicher Genese die Konzentration der Thymidinkinase deutlich anstieg. Das hei\u00dft nat\u00fcrlich zum einen, wir haben mit der Thymidinkinase einen sehr guten zus\u00e4tzlichen Entz\u00fcndungsmarker und zum anderen, die Thymidinkinase ist nicht tumorspezifisch.
